DESCRIPTION:For over 18 years\, these retreats have become landmark experiences for thousands of teenagers on their spiritual journey. \nThis is one of the most anticipated and impactful weekends that students experience as it brings together fun\, great teaching\, spiritual growth\, awesome food\, and crazy activities. Our hope is that our churches make this a “must do” experience for their teens\, as it is a place where the value of the local church meets the uniqueness of being part of a larger faith family. \n  \nWe welcome Matt Adams as the speaker for BLIZZARD 1! \n \nMatt is an illusionist and evangelist who has performed on every habitable continent! He lives in Alabama with his wife Tonya and 3 children. Matt enjoys reading\, theology\, and apologetics. He loves playing chess and watching movies. Matt is a black belt\, plays classical piano\, and has a masters in Global Studies from Liberty University. DESCRIPTION:Avalanche is more than just a weekend retreat – it is often a life changing experience for many students. \nIt is a chance for junior high students to join with 500 other young Canadian Baptists and see that they are not alone in their journey towards Jesus. Through high quality small group experiences\, musical worship and engaging teaching\, we aim to inspire your students\, whether Christians or not\, to begin taking steps in their young faith journeys. Beyond that there are so many great games\, activities and a lifetime of memories made on this weekend. \n  \nThis years speaker is Carrie Rostollan– born in Wisconsin in 1969. She got saved at a Daily Vacation Bible School in 1973. DESCRIPTION:Make sure this is on your calendar because we want to increase the visibility of our point youth workers\, both volunteer and paid! \nAssembly is a family gathering of Baptist churches\, and an incredible time of networking\, training\, encouragement\, worship and fellowship. There is also a special\, off-site gathering on Thursday night for all youth ministry leaders that involves food and fun! \nRegister for Assembly starting in 2016 at baptist.ca/assembly. If you can’t come to the full Assembly\, come to the free events like the evening plenary sessions or our Thursday late-night event for youth leaders.
