Toronto Baptist Ministries (TBM) hosted its annual youth leader retreat on May 6 at Mississauga Chinese Baptist Church. Six churches were represented. The emphasis was a comprehensive discussion on what makes a thriving youth ministry, and what are issues that need to be addressed along the way. Our 8 days in the Dominican Republic culminated in both a series of blessings and challenges. For me (Alvin), this was my second time serving with a team in the Lighthouse Project. On this final day, we took time to pray for the water purification plant, the vocational school, the gym, the Lighthouse school itself, the bus (and the places it brings people to), future teams, each other and the items being donated. This morning (around 4:30 am), some of us were awakened by an earthquake located approx. 80 km away from us.
