Who am I? It’s an age-old question to which every person seeks to find the answer. All around us, it seems everything and everyone is vying to shape our identity, for better or for worse— from parents to friends to billboards to online ads to music and movies. Without an answer to that question, we drift in life, aimlessly and passively. With Jr. high students, it’s that much more pertinent.

Within adolescence, these questions become that much more crucial. Erik Erikson, a noted psychologist, theorized how the teens years are about identity formation. It’s a key component in adolescence.

This curriculum is designed to explore the question Who am I? within the viewpoint of the Christian faith. If God created us, then he would know us best. If he knows us best, then shouldn’t we be turning to him to figure out our identity?

It is our desire to help students anchor their faith and lives in the One who made them (and all of us). Having that anchor point solidifies our sense of being in Christ alone.
