Our first Next Gen Pastors Retreat with 14 children, family, youth and next gen pastors gathered at Camp Kwasind this past week. We had 2 main areas:
- Learning about SEL (social-emotional learning) wisdom both for each of us individually and how we can support our children and youth in those areas. Margaret Boersma led us in activities and lessons to help us hone those skills.
- Diving deeper into the new Create and Cultivate report. These were starting conversations in discerning how we can better create and cultivate space for the upcoming generation within Canadian Baptist churches.
Our group took time to learn, play and pray together. We had a mixture of children, family, youth and next gen pastors including those who are volunteers and others as paid staff. Many walked away expressing this was a significant few days to reflect, to be challenged and encouraged in God’s calling for the upcoming generation.
We are grateful to God for the space he prepared for all of us as we continue to hone our understanding and desire to see the upcoming generation know the person and message of Jesus.
Once again well done. Thank you all for the hard work. I enjoy the retreat and enjoy all the activities. Margaret was great 👍
Had a great experience; it was nice to connect with others as I am coming back into ministry.
With being my first Next Gen Pastors Retreat it was amazing. Lots of great memories and space to grow.
