What is a Student-Led Microgrant?
The Student-Led Initiatives Microgrant is a funding opportunity provided by CBOQ to empower youth and young adults (up to the age of 25) to lead ministry projects that impact their communities. Grants of up to $1,000 are available to support new creative, missional, and community-focused initiatives.
Who Can Apply
– Youth or young adults connected to a CBOQ church.
– Applications must be submitted on behalf of the student(s) by a CBOQ church.
Application Deadlines
– Spring Deadline: April 15
– Fall Deadline: October 15
Steps to Apply
- Student(s) brainstorm a Project: Identify a need in your community or church. Develop a project idea where the student leads the initiative that aligns with the church’s mandate.

- Request Coaching (Optional): You can request a coach from CBOQ to help refine your idea and application.
- Complete the Application: The church leader submits the application as outlined at baptist.ca/micro-grants. Include a project description, budget, and a resolution from your church board.
- Submit Before the Deadline: Ensure all materials are submitted by April 15 or October 15.
- Implement the Project: Once approved, carry out your project with the support of your church and with mentoring from a church member (e.g. youth leader, pastor, board member).
