Yesterday, many of our CBOQ churches celebrated CBOQ Sunday. I (Alvin) was with Windsor Chinese Baptist Church (WCBC) for the weekend and it reminded me of the many reasons why CBOQ exists.
This weekend, I had the honour to leading WCBC’s Friday night youth group, facilitating a ministry audit, reviewing some key areas in their English ministry and speaking at their Sunday English service; I even had a chance to join on of their basketball team practices (and ran drills I haven’t done since high school). While I don’t get down to the Windsor area often, it was amazing to see how God used our collaboration in unique ways.
I met many of the people for the first time, and yet it felt like I knew them as old friends. We were able to talk and pray deeply over God’s direction for WCBC; that church family felt like another extension of my family. In many ways, we are as Canadian Baptists and within the body of Christ.
As Tim McCoy proudly states so many times, “I love this family.” I 100% echo his sentiments.
