June Snapshot: What’s Happening
Hi friends! Here’s a super simple update on what’s been going on and what’s coming up for CBOQ Youth this June—and why it matters.
🌄 Big Win: Retreats Finished!
We just wrapped up three awesome youth retreats in different places across Ontario. People showed up, learned about God, made friends, and had meaningful moments together. Leaders and volunteers helped make it all happen, and we’re really thankful for them.
Good news: more retreats are already planned for spring 2027, so this isn’t over!
🙏 Big Theme: Pray First
June also includes a big gathering called Assembly where churches come together. The main idea this year is: “and then they prayed”
That means before making plans or decisions, we ask God for help and direction. It’s like checking in with the ultimate guide before starting a big journey.
🎉 Stay Connected as a Big Family
There’s also CBOQ Sunday, where churches celebrate being part of something bigger than just their local group.
Why does this matter? Because when young people connect beyond their own church, they see they’re part of a much bigger story—and that’s exciting.
🎓 For Graduates: Help for the Next Step
If you’re graduating high school, two great things are available:
- 💰 Scholarships: 20 students can receive $500 to help with school
- 🤝 Connections: Help finding a Christian community at your new school
Fun fact: students are 4 times more likely to stay strong in their faith if someone helps connect them to a new church early on.
📚 Want to Grow as a Youth Leader?
There’s an 18-month training program where youth leaders can learn how to build strong ministries and understand today’s challenges.
At the end, you even get your own custom plan (like a handbook) for your youth group.

- A retreat for youth pastors in October (about building student leaders)
- A new parent newsletter launching in September
- Stories from different youth ministries to encourage you
