Two Final Spring Retreats

There are two more Ascent retreats happening soon:

  • May 1–3 (Silver Lake)
  • May 29–31 (Pearce Williams)

These are fun weekend getaways where youth hang out, worship, and learn about Jesus together. Think: camp + friends + faith. There are still some spots left if your group wants to come! cboqyouth.ca/ascent

Help for Graduating Students

If your students are finishing high school, here are some big opportunities:

  • Scholarships:
    CBOQ Youth is awarding 20 scholarships of $500 for students in undergraduate studies in the fall (college, university, gap year, or ministry training).
  • Stay connected to faith:
    Students are 4× more likely to keep following Jesus if someone helps them connect to a new church or campus group right away (like InterVarsity or Power to Change). If you have your own connections, go through those. If not, you can connect them to someone personally at cboqyouth.ca/t101connect.
  • Gap year help:
    There’s a simple “DIY Gap Year” guide to help students plan their next step with a mentor. cboqyouth.ca/gapyear

Training for Youth Leaders

There’s a new Youth Ministry Certificate Program starting soon:

  • 18 months long
  • Learn how to lead youth better
  • Build your own “youth ministry playbook”

New Event: CBOQ Youth Friday

On June 12, something new is happening:

Groups from different churches will gather locally and connect together online for one shared night. It’s like many youth groups meeting at the same time and linking up! Sign up for one of our sites or host your own site. All the details are at cboqyouth.ca/june12.

Leadership Opportunity for Students

Students going into Grade 10–11 can join the Young Leaders Collective:

  • Learn leadership + faith
  • Meet other young leaders
  • In some tracks, even earn a Grade 11 credit

Big Church Gathering (Assembly)

From June 4–6, churches will gather at Brock University to:

  • Worship
  • Learn about prayer
  • Listen for God’s direction together

Your Voice Matters (Survey)

A Canada-wide study is asking:
“How does social media affect youth faith?”

  • Open to youth (12–18) and leaders
  • Helps shape how churches support the next generation

Final Thought

May is busy—it’s the “finish line” of the youth ministry year.
