Prayer is central to our faith. When we gather to pray, we seek God’s will for a common purpose or issue. On Sunday, June 14, we ask you to join Canadian Baptist churches across Canada in praying for the upcoming generation.

The Canadian Baptist Youth & Family Team (comprised of representatives from Canadian Baptist Ministries, Convention of Atlantic Baptist Churches, Canadian Baptists of Western Canada and CBOQ) are planning a National Day of Prayer for Youth. It coincides with the Youth World Day of Prayer organized by the Baptist World Alliance. We’re hoping churches across the nation will pray over the youth in their spheres of influence and to intercede on their behalf. Psalm 78 reminds us that one of our mandates is to “tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord, and his might, and the wonders that he has done” (Psalm 78:4b ESV).

The CB Youth & Family Team have compiled resources for your church’s worship services and youth ministries. You can use these resources, adapt them, or come up with your own ways to celebrate youth and pray on their behalf. Information and resources are available at prayforyouth.ca.

Let’s join together in lifting up the next generation before our God, and pray for his guidance and blessing in their lives.
