Last Monday to Wednesday (October 7-9, 2019), 12 youth pastors came to Camp Kwasind to tackle Renegotiating Faith (RF). We were honoured to have Rick Hiemstra (Director of Research with the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada and principal author of RF).

Rick led our group through some key insights from RF and other thoughts on attention, social media and its impact on youth. This led to some great in-depth conversations as our group wrestled with how this influences our youth ministries.

Each youth pastor worked on a 12-month action plan in how to help the class of 2020 move well from high school to post-secondary life. Together, we lifted these plans before God in prayer.

Here were some of the comments shared from our delegates:

“It was great to get away to be renewed, encouraged, challenged and to learn with others who are passionate about youth ministry. I really appreciated the opportunity to connect and network with other youth pastors in CBOQ.” – Hannah (Immanuel Baptist Church, Toronto)

“It was a needed time for me to rest, put things in perspective, and to take advantage of time alone (I needed to be alone, but appreciated the time together) so, I was grateful for the free time you gave us. Rick gave invaluable information and insight. Particularly I enjoy the Tuesday’s morning talk and groups discussions. That was a highlight. Truly appreciate the hard work everyone put into this.” – Sergio (Harmony Baptist Church)
