Last week, 20 youth workers gathered at Camp Kwasind for a time of fellowship, inspiration and challenge. We saw some familiar faces and welcomed some new ones.
Dale Stairs (Director of the Crandall-Acadia Bachelor of Theology Partnership & Director of Community Practicum) challenged us to consider our own soul care, core elements that need to be incorporated in a youth ministry (like camping and mentoring), and ways to evaluate the effectiveness of our youth ministries. We joined in worship with Darin Martin as he led us through some old favourite hymns to contemporary courses plus a couple of his own songs. In between there was laughter, prayer, intense discussions, an epic game of broomball mixed with times of silence and rest.
By the end of our 40 hours together, there was a stronger bond within our CBOQ Youth family. It’s our prayer that the youth workers will go out courageously as they continue to empower the students in their spheres of influence and be bold witnesses for Jesus.
