An avalanche came this weekend. Sure, there was a lot of snow. More importantly, the message of Jesus was clearly presented and available for all to consider.

Our speaker, Shawn Naylor, talked through our 4 sessions: the projected identity, what’s behind the scenes, when it all falls apart and the raw self. He challenged to almost 500 jr. high students and youth leaders to consider who Jesus calls them to be, and to accept his gift of salvation. Our friends who serve as worship leaders at Connexus led us in worship.

The downpour of snow on Saturday (though not as bad as Newfoundland) gave our outdoor activities that much more excitement (and perseverance).

One church leader shared how her group didn’t really get into any deep discussion before, but on Saturday night, began to talk about some of the struggles they felt.

On a personal note, I (Alvin) was very grateful for the words and prayers of appreciation in my 20th year with Avalanche for many people.

It’s our continued desire to see this upcoming generation know the person and message of Jesus. Can’t wait to see what follow-up stories might follow.
