Last night, we hosted our 20th+ Centre Court event. Not only did the Raptors come away with a convincing victory, almost 700 of us got to hang back after the game for our own program.

This year’s speaker was Stormin’ Norman Powell. He shared how his faith has continued to shape him (he previously shared at Centre Court about three years ago), especially after last summer’s NBA championship. More importantly, he focused on how the spiritual disciplines are giving shape to his relationship with Jesus.

We also had Isaac from Uxbridge share about his involvement in his youth group, and how Jesus is influencing the way he thinks. “Peace” and “confidence” were key words in his testimony.

Over 100 youth had the opportunity to come and shoot some baskets on the court. Some won some Raptors swag. One individual won a signed Pascal Siakim jersey.

Our desire for Centre Court is to catalyze faith conversations, especially with the invited friends who don’t have their own faith (almost 100 of them were present). It’s our prayer that they will continue with the groups they came with to consider and hopefully follow Jesus, especially into this Christmas season.
