National day of Prayer for Youth on June 11

Generation Z is facing challenges that are similar to previous generations; there are others that are unique to this time and place. We are calling all Canadian Baptist churches to join in prayer on Sunday, June 11.

The Canadian Baptist Youth team is inviting churches to pray with and for youth together. There are a myriad of ways to do this. You’ll find some ideas both for your Sunday service and for youth ministry at prayforyouth.ca.

More important, involve them in prayer. Maybe interview 2-3 students on what challenges they face. (e.g. 13 Reasons Why gives a glimpse into what some youth are dealing with.) Pray not just for the youth in your church or even your community, but also lift up issues that youth are facing across Canada and even the world. (The terrorist attack in Manchester recently demonstrates again that youth are not immune to issues at large.)

Whatever way you choose to pray, it’s our desire for us to bring Generation Z before God’s throne and to seek his will in the coming days, months and years ahead of them.
