We are exploring the possibility of hosting a youth outreach event with Toronto FC. We’d like your input on whether it’d be worthwhile hosting.

The purpose of all our outreach events are twofold:

  1. For invited friends to gain a positive impression of Jesus, perhaps for the first time.
  2. To connect with the group they were invited with for faith conversations beyond the event.

We’ve been asked to consider the following event for 2018.

  • A 1-day Saturday event in mid-September to early October.
  • The morning would consist of a mini-tournament where groups would come as their own team. It can be a mixture of youth and leaders. Churches could bring multiple teams if they wish. Others could participate as spectators. The mini-tournament would be hosted at the TFC Kia practice facility near Downsview (north Toronto).
  • TFC would invite a Christian player (or former player) to share how Jesus has impacted his life.
  • After the tournament, groups would head to BMO Field to watch a game (either in the afternoon or evening).
