Today was a day of rest from work. We started our morning by joining the Open Walls Church within the community. Their congregation welcomed us by teaching us a song and praying for us.

In the afternoon, we were up against one of the softball teams in the neighbourhood. We were told they practice twice a week; we became their practice round. While our team put up a good fight, we were no match for their skills.

The gaps within our day gave us a chance to rest; some of us needed it more than others. Kylie reminded us in tonight’s session, “We rest so we can work, not work so we can rest.” We look forward to leading some school activities and continuing work on the trade school in Villa Altagracia the next couple of days.
