This last week, 99 students and leaders from four churches (two from the Chicago area, two from the Green Bay area) visited Toronto to participate in Lead222′s Servant Leadership experience. CBOQ Youth was a key partner in helping to arrange project sites for them to visit, including St. Jude’s Academy of the Arts, Christian Horizons, Matthew House, Toronto City Mission and Youth Unlimited.

These teams helped with cleaning projects, served alongside a variety of cultures and demographics and were stretched in their faith. In the morning and evenings, they regrouped at Tyndale University College to explore God’s word in the area of servanthood.

Here are some reflections from two leaders.

  • Toronto has served as a great location for LEAD222 to host one of our summer Servant Leadership trips for several years now. We couldn’t do what we do to in Canada without the leadership of the CBOQ. This summer was another amazing year of serving the Toronto area and contributing to the ongoing work of several wonderful ministries and organizations. Every year our relationship grows stronger and the work God is doing digs deeper. We are grateful to join in the great work being done for the Kingdom in Toronto.” -Tim Mannin, LEAD222 Representative – Oklahoma City, OK
  • “Our time in Toronto has been great for our students. Our students were really touched through serving with the great people at St. Jude’s. It stretched them in great ways and was a special time. Trips like these are always great markers in a student’s life – they remember it forever.” -Pete App, Leader – Green Bay Community Church

It was a pleasure for CBOQ Youth to serve alongside Lead222 in hosting this experience. We pray God’s blessing for each team as they continue to live the life each person has been called to with courage.
